Rust

Had it for a while, just small spots, where holster wear was worst.

I had the slide refinished, will post pics of it soon.

These are your new uniforms, but don't use the pockets unelss we cannot tell you are using them.

The gist of military intelligence, and pretty much any other government program I can think of.

Resurrecting an old thread...

Had the XDM since Nov 08 and the XD 45 since last month. No rust. I live in Arizona (dry climate), light lube on the moving parts inside, and wipe down the outside until it is dry. both are stored in their cases in an upstairs closet.

When we lived in humid Missouri, we always stored our guns dry and didn't have a rust problem. EVERYONE will see rust on their guns at some point, even with proper maintenance and storage...it's a matter of WHEN, not IF. I just haven't had rust on my XDs (((((YET))))).

Almost 6 yr old XD-9 Service - I've read all the comments about rust problems, but never seen any on mine. Got lucky I guess...

XD40SC, test case date Nov. 2006, no rust, but all frame pin ends turned a plum color when I coated them with CLP to ward off possible rusting !?! But no rust or corroded finish on pin ends or anywhere. Cheers

So according to this poll over 22% of XD guns have had rusting issues.
That's not good, that is the main reason I haven't bought one.

Are the new(er) ones any better?
I really like the feel of these, but I don't want to have to keep her hosed down with oils.
