I had the infamous rust issue, Springfield took care of it without a problem.

The rust was from wearing it concealed

XD 45 service.... Not a speck.. not a problem.. Not an issue..

Someone had earlier mentioned that It might be a problem with the chemical treating process not being properly cleaned before or during coating... If someone is having rust issues I was wondering if you could try and clean the slide with simple green, and rinsing and drying... or clean it with rubbing alcohol.... after that coat with a thin coat of gun oil, or silicone... treat as normal and let me know the results...

I've had problems with imporperly alodined aluminum on some aircraft parts, the acid etch wasnt properly rinsed, and caused pitting on the castings after use.

dried acid + water = corrosion

Not on any of them. Melonite or not.

sad to say yes

I said yes. I had just gotten my XD9 alittle over a year ago. I couldn't keep the rust off of it. I sent it back to Springfield and they re coated it with armory-coat for free. No problems since then...
