Depends on the firearm for CCW. With a pocket gun like the Kahr PM9 yes I carry at least one spare mag. For the XD it depends on what i'm wearing and where I'm going but normally yes usually carry a spare mag.

extra mag
i carry a s&w 1911 in a ams tactical nylon holster that has a extra mag. holder, with this holster its convient to carry the extra mag. and i really dont notice the extra weight.

No, I tried a couple times to carry an extra mag, but stopped. I don't usually spend any time in truly dangerous areas, so I've never felt unprepared with 10 shots....

Since I often CCW with a Kel-Tec p3AT, I have a spare magazine in my pocket because 7 rounds of .380 may not be enough.
If I have my XD-40 on me it's because I'm at work and 2 spare magazines is a good idea.

I usually carry my 1911, with standard 7 round mag. So yes I usually carry a spare one with me.
