POLL: IWB vs SOB

For concealing an XD .40 SC (which I don't own yet, but will next week) how do you recommend I carry? IWB, SOB, Other? From what others have said and what I've read about them, I'm leaning towards Crossbreed. The Supertuck seems pretty popular and now I'm wondering if anyone has personal experience with Crossbreeds 'Small of the Back' model. Which is more comfortable? Which is better? Thanks.

What I've learned (from others on this forum) is that SOB is not a good choice, because if you slip and fall, you can cause very serious back damage.

As well, when you arm is behind you, you are half way to a submission hold.

+1

And
2) it takes longer to draw your arm around
3) it can cause back injury when seated for long periods of time
4) it's easier for an attacher to get your gun from behind if they see it print

That's only true if you believe that serious spinal cord damage and partial to full paralysis constitutes "serious back damage"

I sure as hell do!

I used to carry my cuffs in the small of my back on my duty belt. That was stupid (of me) for a whole variety of reasons including the ones stated above.

And NO, I don't know why folks make / sell them.

The only thing I carry in the small of my back is a soft little package of surgical gloves.

Besides the whole PARAPELIGA issue with SOB carr, there is one other major issue.

Watch when you draw. Most people sweep the barrel over their kidney. In a tense situation, if you AD while drawing, you wont just shoot the ground.

Wow, I'm glad I asked. You've all made my decision very easy! I won't waste my time or money on the SOB. Thanks.

IWB at the hip is faster and less likely to get you hurt.
