It's gimmicky and cheap looking. They have really screwed the pooch with this one. They had a good thing going for them. This is embarrassing.

First impression is that it looks different, not fantastic, but not as ugly as some think. I sort of like it, but the pictures really weren't that great. I still don't want to vote until I have held one.

I do like the looks but I will wait until I can hold one in my hands to make the final judgment. It may be a bit more snappy with the weight reduction.

i like it except for the front of the slide. If you cover the end it looks great but the area thats cut out doesnt look very good IMO but other then that i like it. and i do really like the fact that SA is trying new things and trying to offer what people want, i.e. a 16 round 40 allthough i would rather have that built on the existing 45 frame since you can fit 16 rounds of 40 in a full size 45 magazine, that seems to be a much easier choice.

heres my bet.
the new xds will be around $600-650

With as much as Springfield has hyped the ergonomics of the current XD, I have to believe that the XD-Ms grip is going to be very comfortable.

Has everyone signed up for the M-Factor updates?

I voted yes, but I hope that it is, as some have said, an addition to the XD family and not a replacement. I love my gun!

Bingo. I voted yes but would like to try it out in the hand before deciding for sure.
