To me the thing looks battle ready. That grip looks vented to let air circulate while locking into your hand. Nice long barrel, with XD reputation of toughness and reliability. Ill take one 5' please?

I am voting yes, but without handling it... Who knows. I don't buy guns on looks but on feel and performance. if it feels good in the hand I would buy one.

On first impression, I don't care for the looks. If and when I get my hands on one and can fire a few rounds through it, I might change my mind. I like some of the features ( interchangable backstraps, new grip design) I'll wait to buy one til atleast I can hold it first.

Since you want first impressions, then I like it.
I feel it would be a great addition to the XD line.
But not a replacement for the current model.
This is much like the brouhaha over the thumb safety.
I don't care for it, but it is just an option for those who want it....
