Good suggestion and welcome to the forum!
I have an XD .45 Service and an XD .45 Compact Tactical. Both are fine guns and I carry them in the same Milt Sparks Versa Max II IWB holster. I was looking for something a little lighter / easier to carry. As far as that goes, I went against what many of you said and went with the Kahr .45 Big mistake, mine doesn't feed, go to battery, or eject. I sent it back to Kahr and it still has the same problems. So now I have a 642 for back up to my XD. Chapie+ |

I like my XD s/c. I can put the extended mag in for range use, then without it fits in my pocket for carry.

I'm in this boat as well. I'm having a hard time deciding what I want. I'd prefer to have something at least 9mm, but I've heard such good things about 642/442...then there is the thin/light factor of the P3AT or LCP and then there is the 9mm part of the PM9.
I have an XD45 compact and it's not hard to conceal, it's just that I prefer to have an undershirt between the holster and my body which makes the days that it's 90+ and humid all that much more dreadful. I can get the P3AT for $254, the 642 for $377, and the PM9 for $536... The PM45 isn't small enough for me to justify the price. Other than it's only slightly thinner, it's not much, if at all, shorter than my XD45c and I have 10+1 capacity with the XD. The weight of the XD isn't a problem either. I want something I can carry in a pocket and I've always liked the PM9 with the 6+1 of 9mm over the 642 with 5 rounds of .38+P. I might end up with the revolver though.
