I also have JIT Slide that carries the gun higher and can be concealed with a t-shirt. The Ruger is a nice gun to just drop in the front pocket also.
How is the LCP to shoot? Is it accurate - at all? I haven't handled / shot one so I just don't know. How much do they run? Can you get a pocket holster for it? I've seen pocket holsters for the j-frame .38s.

How much is the 642? If I was looking for something lighter, personally I would go with the Charter Arms undercover. Good quality revolver, american made, weighs 16 oz and you can buy one brand new for less than $400.

Kahr PM 9 is what I carry most of the time now. In fact it's in my back pocket... Very quick and easy to conceal and carry. I'm not sure the sizes on the Kahr 45 you listed but if it's close to the PM 9 it's very concealable.

I can get either the Kahr CW4543 or the SW 642 for right around $400 ordered in brand new.

The Kahr CW4543 is bigger than the PM9.
CW4543 6.32" over all length vs. PM9 5.3 and CW4543 4.8" high vs. PM9 4.0" high. So the PM9 is definetly smaller. Kahr does make a PM45 that is 5.67" long and 4.49" high, but it is $200 more.

I did have an opportunity to shoot a PM9. In fact I swapped shootin irons at the range with one of the SWAT guys. I shot his PM9 and was incredibly impressed with the accuracy, reliability, and low recoil. He shot my XD Service .45 and he was very impressed with it and stated his regret at purchasing his H&K .45 as the XD was more accurate and carried more rounds. I didn't ask him which H&K .45 he had.

Chapie:

I can't speak directly about the little Ruger, but I do have the P3-AT. Accuracy, given tha near absence of sights, isn't all that bad at Tueller distances.

OTOH, putting a magazine-full on a dinner-plate sized target is pretty much all that a gun like that needs to do. It'll do that easily if you do your part.

My P3's trigger is too narrow for my chubby fingers. Pinches me rather badly. I tried a trigger shoe, but that pretty well trashed the trigger.... (Meantime, it worked well enough to kill the magazine release.) I have a replacement for that, but I'm waiting for the replacement trigger before I tackle disassembly.

I expect the Ruger is at least as good.... I'm waiting for my dealer to get one - I'm not likely to buy one, but I want to see it.

Regards,

Caliber and model are not the issue here folks. It's all about fashion. Spring carry of any caliber is most often enjoyed in bright multi colors (goes great with wild flowers). For summertime a nice camo or shaded green to offset the effects of the forest in the big city look and I just love the 45 cal in fall colors, the golds, reds and browns. In winter just pick a favorite white background to enhance the look of any of your weapons and add in any favorite Christmas colors to top it off. Always make sure they don't clash with your dinner napkins.

Well, I guess I could use my

Para Tac-Four, but the spare mag kinda weighs my pants down in the Summer.... (It really is green.)

Sammy won't carry it, either.

So, it's black, or stainless for me.... (Or, half & half, like an XD....)

Regards,

I find myself carrying my 642 more and more as the weather warms up. (Waiting to pick up my XD .45c) I have a couple of different IWB holsters and pocket holsters plus an ankle holster. Between all of them there aren't too many situations that I can think of where I wouldn't be able to have it on me.

How about an XD? In 45acp, of course.
