Those SIG P232 are really sweet and really expensive!

I can get the Kahr for about $150.00 less and, reading the specs from the websites: (https://www.sigsauer.com/Products/Sh...0&productid=68 and KAHR CW4543 / Specifications) the Kahr looks to be about the same size based on similar length, height, width, weight, and barrel length. I figure for the same size gun I would rather have a .45 ACP than a .380.

What does anyone think of the new Ruger LCP? The Ruger LCP - Lightweight Compact Pistol I have NOT read a review of it. I did read a real good review of the Kahr and have heard nothing but praise about the SW 642.

In warm (shorts) weather I carry a SW 638. It offers the 'barely there' hammer version. A neat way to get the no-hangups handling of the covered hammer models, while still being able to get a deliberate cock and single stage pull if you want to do so.

Thumbs up

Chapie:

The Ruger's a fairly good clone of the P3-AT, I'm told.... They may have fixed a few things that Kel-Tec left undone, though. If Walt (at Mod-Tech) ever gets my new trigger to me, I'll pull my P3 out of the drawer, but I want to see the Ruger, too.

I think I mentioned that my CS45, XD-9 SC, and PPK/S are all essentially the same size, if you ignore the Walther's (this is a circa 1968 gun) being considerably thinner. I'm big enough to hide a full-sized 1911, so all three are "compacts" here . (The P3 is definitely "lose it in your pocket lint", as is the little Ruger. I just don't trust it much.)

Regards,

I have a XD 45C. It is a little too much gun some summer days. I have a Ruger LCP that I bought a couple of weeks ago and it has not been off of my person since. I have a couple of spare mags coming tomorrow. Have a Desantis pop up holster that carries the gun inside the pants level with the waistband. I also have JIT Slide that carries the gun higher and can be concealed with a t-shirt. The Ruger is a nice gun to just drop in the front pocket also.

I'm still waiting on my LCP. I have never really understood pocket carrying a revolver such as the 642 because of the width. If someone could clarify this further, maybe I would understand it better, but for me, width is the most important aspect of pocket carry and the 642 is considerably wider than the LCP.

I have the same decision to make. I want a revolver and was thinking about a charter arms 38+p but just found a slightly used Ruger sp101 for a really good price. Its a nice gun and I have the option of 38 special or .357 mag.

For me - and it's a matter of personal preferance - the SP101 is really nice, but also a bit heavy. I'm looking for something lighter / easier to carry. That said I know the SP101 would be easier to shoot while the 642 would be easier to carry. Who knows?
