I've got a Model 1917 and love it. Get full moon clips for it and shoot USPSA revolver division with it. I've got an ammo can half full of filled moon clips and plan to get classified with it.
The Thunder Ranch looks like it would be handier with it's slightly shorter barrel.

A 45 ACP wheel gun strikes me as something like a fish on a bicycle.

They are fun. Just hope you don't run out of moon clips LOL. Getting fired cases out without the moon clips can take a lot longer than with.

Frenchy,
The 22-4, in my mind, is about as perfect a fightin' sixgun as S&W has ever produced, except for one little thing- that extra navel by the cylinder release. I don't trust it. One of these days I'll find a Brazillian and cut it down, remount the front sight, and have the no-lock version of that gun. If the lock don't bother you, it's just a matter of which barrel length you prefer.

If you want just plain old cool, then I would go with the 1917. For just plain old shootin' fun, the 625, hands down.

1917...or the 625JM. I like the 'history' of the '17 though....
