i usually have over 500 rounds on hand. You never know when you are going to get the itch to go shooting.

I try to keep 500 for each on hand, so its over 5000 but real close to 10000.

Right now I've got about:

100 rounds of 357 Sig
400 rounds of 9mm
150 rounds of 17HMR
400 rounds of 22lr
50 rounds of 45 ACP
100 rounds of 380 ACP
100 rounds of 9x18 Makarov
100 rounds of 7.62x25 Tokarev

I keep at least two mags worth of self defense type ammo for each gun, and I also try to keep on hand enough ammo for at least one, but preferably two trips to the Range.

I also try to keep at least one representative of any type of ammo that I come across, for reference purposes.

I've got so much on hand that I am afraid to post numbers because I might scare myself with how much it cost to load it all. Hell, I have over 5000 rounds of .22 just for play time. I shoot registered skeet so there's 12,20,28ga & 410 in case loads. I shoot USPSA matches so there is .45ACP, 9MM, .223 by the 1000's & a few boxes of slugs & 4 shot for 3 gun shotgun. If my house ever caught fire I would be in the next block because it would sound like several Viet Nam firefights all at once.

I have not counted it all but I know I have at least 500 rounds in each caliber that I shoot.

22, 32, 380, 38, 357mag, 357sig, 5.56, 7.62x39, 12ga, 9mm, 10mm, 40, 44, 45

Well since I posted the question I figured the least I could do is to an actual count. And yes I used MS Excel to do the math for me.

I ended up with 9,191 Rounds total.

the breakdown went as such....

.45 ACP 1,470 with 800 of that being ball ( one size fits most )

.40 S&W 830 with of that being 450 bal

.357 Mag 390 most of witch was soft point

9mm 1,067 with 800 of that being ball (euro pellet range ammo)

30-06 900 with about 400 of that being ball

30-30 259 soft point

.223 1150 ball

.22 LR 2,200

.22 mag 700

12 GA 225 mostly 00 and slugs



The one caveat is that I did not count any of the 7.62X39 I keep at the farm. (Out of site, Out of mind)


My son goes through a lot of .22 lr and lately he has been on a .22 mag kick so I need to do a better job stocking up on .22 mag.

Over 1200 for 40, 250-350 for 45, and about 250 for 9. I also still have some shotshells even though I sold my shotgun.

Oh yeah and about 400 for my 223. I also have the reloading capacity of 500 .40s, 200 9mm, and 350 for 45

XD BUG, if I counted right, you have 22,700 rounds. Just curious, how come you didn't ck the 20K selection? This is not an opinion as to how many rounds you have as that is your business/right, wondering only. Thanks.
