A Training forum on XDTalk......

...who's interested? Very simple yes/no question.....who would like a section of XDTalk devoted to training and tactics? I'm talking a place to discuss your own training experiences, schools & instructors, scenarios and the like. I'll be the first to put in a YES vote. Who's with me? Maybe if there's enough interest, we can ask Kermee.

I don't know, there is so much crap that flies around with tactics and the term "mall ninja" is used more than anything else.

I'd love to see a list of books to read or videos to watch.

Competition Shooting Books, DVDs, Holsters, & Reloading Equipment has the best forum of competition IPSC/IDPA shooting out there. Any BS gets shot down, as some of the best shooters in the country regularly visit there.

It would be hard to even come close anywhere else. Just go to his site and read the reviews on the books and vids and start collecting if you want to learn about shooting accurately fast

Nope. This is after all the internet and I would prefer to get my training from confirmed sources.

No offense intended, guys.

I can totally see what you mean, no offense taken. I understand all that "mall ninja" stuff gets very old. I guess what I was suggesting is a section for discussion of different instructors and training outfits and everyones experience with them. Such as "just got back from a Pat Rogers carbine class....here's an after action report....." etc. etc.

....or as a place for upcoming training opportunities.

We've got a couple of confirmed experts that post here every so often...David Kenick and Rob Pincus to start.

I think, like everything else on the interweb, one must confirm the source and scrutinize each item to make sure what they are subscribing to is truly 'training'.

That said, I would like to have a resource in one area that we could go to to find out where certain training will be taking place as well as posting up videos and articles on firearms training and self defense tactics.

They have exactly what you are refering to here, Brian's Forums... Maku mozo! -> Competition Class Announcements. The area breakdown can be found at uspsa.org

That I can see a place for. I misunderstood your intention.

I am always interested in learning. That is why I go to XDTalk. Perhaps a listing of free internet resources like DownrangeTV.com and the like. Maybe a review of different schools like Gunsight and Frontsight and the like?
