Any reason why some of you mention you stray from reloading rifle ammo? Would this be related to necked cases being slightly more difficult to reload?

i reload rifle, i just don't make my own projectiles like i do with my pistols. plus for us it's AAAALL about precision. we use the same brass in the same gun. fire formed, PERFECTLY FITTING brass... it's like firearm intercourse. and when you're putting your bullets through the same hole on nearly every shot... that's just something you don't screw around with.

Most people probably dont reload rifle because they do not shoot enough rounds to justify the added equipment.

I reload rifle and pistol but do not relaod .223 because if Im going to plint, I buy bulk, if I want to hunt, I buy premium but since I have a red dot on it instead of a scope, I will never see the difference in handloads versus factory. One of my guns is a somewhat exotic (.225) so i pretty much have to relaod that one and my .308 I load for optimum accuracy and to tayor the load to my varmint hunting needs.

Every time I consider blowing my money on reloading equipment, I somehow wake up with a shinny new gun under my pillow. Somehow it just happens.

I reload and shoot nothing but my reloads for .45acp. I don't have the parts to reload other calibers yet, so I am still buying factory ammo for 9mm, 30-30, and 7.62x39

Depends on your shooting habits.

I shoot a lot so all it does it give me more shooting time. Most people can reload ammo for about 5.50 a box of 50 depending on your caliber and powder charge.

Handloading Cost Calculator

You need to save lots of brass to reap the benefits as well as brass hogging at the range if you can.
