i agree it is alot...but not really here.

the .40 has a higher muzzle velocity higher 25 and 50 yard velocity...and has more ft/lbs or energy at muzzle 25 and 50 yards....drops significantly less over distance as well.

This was a difficult one for me. I really like my XD .45 ACP Compact. It is my carry and duty gun. I like my .357 and 38 too. But my favorite all around fun gun / cal has to be my MKII in .22 LR. I have Volquartson work on it a lot and it is really something now. And the same rounds go in my modified 10-22. Cheap, plentiful, accurate, and fun to shoot.

Oh, my (tupperwear) 9mm sits in the safe and collects dust.

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

i hope you all can understand my little table. i picked the same style round(the first type of jacketed hollow points) from remingtons table and its just so obvious...the .40 is unstoppable.
For stopping power you have to love the .357

Drops like a rock, but at 100 yards it still has 450 ft/lbs of energy which is more than a .45acp & 9mm at muzzle.

Although, there's a good reason why the .44 mag is the most powerful handgun catridge "known to man."

oh yeah i agree. but i choose .40 cause i thinks its by far the best of the popular rounds. i love .357 and i love .44 but if you want a .44 not in a revolver you gotta have a magnum research...and no thanks for me.
