Have you ever had a malfunction of any kind with your XD?
What model were you using when you had your malfunction?
Clarification: I'm referring specifically to mechanical malfunctions in the firearm; failures to feed, eject, premature slide locking, or other jams. Catastrophic breakage would count, too (like barrel snapping!!!!). I'm not interested in rust-related stuff. Ammo problems are ammo problems and not XD problems though I feel that ammo problems are equally as likely in all calibers and will probably cancel each other out throughout the different XD models. I know these polls are FAR from scientific but I'm curious to know how malfunctions spread between the different caliber/designs of XD.

What kind of malfunction? A simple jam? A broken part?
I have had numerous malfunction of various kinds with my three XD-40s and my XD-45. My XD-40 Tactical has over 15,000rds through it. Most of the malfuction have been user or ammo induced. In sufficent crimp will turn and XD-40 into a jam-O-matic. Hitting the edge of a port in a wall combine with a light recoil spring has cause a few failures to fires when the slide did not return completely to battery. I have had two broken parts in my XD-40Tactical, my other three have not had a problem. A cracked locking block although it never cause a malfunction I eventually got it replaced after I notice it had started to crack. I also had a trigger bar spring break and that did render the weapon inoperative. mcb |

This should be a slow thread with your options. I have never had a malfuntion with my XD40 service. Approx 3000+ rounds.

If you can count a limp wrist when I first shot my XD9.
Any other malfunctions were as a result of bad ammo, i.e. hard primers not tight enough of a crimp etc. Besides the one limp wrist I've never had a problem with commercially available ammo of any kind that I've tried.

When I owned it, I had a single FTE in my XD9sc...a stovepipe. Other than that, it was a champ! And I had that failure during the first 100-200 rounds, which I didn't mind as I was breaking it in.

If defective ammo counts I have had one in 600+ rounds. One round of WWB had a big hole in the side of the case and jammed the slide.

Yeah, if you've had no malfunctions, you can vote as much by posting: "ISHPECK, YOU DOLT! MY XD IS INFALLIBLE!" I'm not interested in non-failing XD's. I accept these flawlessly-running machines as the norm and am currently studying the distribution of the abnormal XD's.
