The only malfunction I ever had was ammo related. Wolf steel case. Won't EVER buy it again.

The only malfunction out of 6000 rounds has been one round of CCI aluminum cased ammo. Never used again brass only. Other than that my XD9 has worked flawlessly.

I've got several thousand rounds through my XD-40 Service and the only time it didn't go bang was one dud Blazer Brass round. It has never jammed or failed in any way. The gun is 100% so far.
I should probably mention that I checked the primer on that dud round and it was properly dented. It was definitely an ammo failure. I took the time to be certain because I had less than 100 rounds through the gun at the time and wanted to make sure it was reliable. Last edited by scurtis_34471 : 03-21-2008 at 10:36 PM. |

For my XD45 Tactical...Only when I used 200-300 rds of lead bullest and didn't clean it. I usally bore snake the bbl for a quick clean.... but I let it sit for 2-3 weeks and went to a IDPA shooting match and had two jams because the bullet would not seat correctly in the bbl. Clean it before the next stage and it was back to normal click and bang.

Ammo problems (ie. quality, bullet profiles, out of spec reloads) are the biggest culprit for malfunctions. Every once in awhile you will see a spring, extractor, or trigger bar fail.

Cracked locking block and multiple feed problems (traced to a bad Springfield mag). Other than that - nothing but sweetness and better than 10k rounds through my .40 service.

I have a XDSC 9 and have pushed several thousand down the tube and have had no malfunctions of any kind.
