Around here they have signs that ask you to keep firearms holstered, otherwise it should be unloaded and locked back before entering the store.

I voted "No" because I don't patronize ANY business that wants to deprive me of my right to self defense.

I CC everywhere - what they don't know they can't stop. If I'm ever 'made', I simply show the badge and the ID - it's always been enough to stop them cold.

I don't advertise that I carry - no 'strong side' arm cock, mall ninja swagger, combat boots, camo BDUs, etc. (all the stuff you look for in a guy who's new to carry and anxious to show it off).......

Once again if the gun is concealed properly then they will never know.

I agree. There are only 3 mom and pop gun stores in my area. All of them located near high crime areas. People have honestly tried to rob them during store hours before. SO i cant honestly dissagre with thier policies.
Supposedly, a store in Richmond VA with a Class 3 got robbed this past easter weekend. I was told that they still dont know how many guns were stolen and what types of guns were stolen. Its safe to say all of the hi-power stuff is gone. Scary stuff.

I have a question for Robinsre (I think it is)... don't you work with chemicals, in a lab or a pharmacy or something? Do you have your coffee cup or soda can on the bench when you are workin
I work in a laboratory.

If you utilize proper technique, in both instances you avoid disaster.

No I do not have a drink on my laboratory bench, it is stored securely in a drawer I keep specifically for personal effects in the laboratory.

I utilize the Separate and Sterile technique.

Any chemicals are kept on laboratory benches, or on storage shelves.

Any drinks are kept in my personal effects drawer.

If I need to take a drink I retrieve the drink, take it outside the laboratory, check it, open it, drink it outside and throw away the container.

Laboratory chemicals never leave the laboratory unless they are in a separate carrying container.

The same technique can be applied in a gun store.

Concealed carry firearms in a gun store remain HOLSTERED the entire time while in the store.

Anything for store use is brought into the store in a separate container clearly identifying it as a firearm. Store firearms should be tagged so as to identify them from customer's personal firearms.

In Kansas, Open carry is legal through out the state except where prohibited by local ordinances. There are quite a few municipalities where it is indeed against ordinance to open carry. Kansas also has conceal carry with valid CCH license through out the state. However, municipalities may not circumvent this law. With the exception of federal buildings, a few state buildings, all other locations are open to CCH EXCEPT where posted by a valid Attorney General designed and approved No Carry sign.

If the store, facility, owner posts, I won't cross. I will not do business with someone who takes little interest in my life and welfare by creating their own personal no-gun zone. Its as simple as that.
