I work in the IT Department for a large AZ lawfirm. I love me, so does that count?

The people who I don't get a long with so well are the people that think that everything that plugs into a wall is somehow IT related and thus we must wave our magical wands and fix it immediately. Or the people who somehow think it's my job to examine documents on a CD just because it goes in a computer and they are not sure how to work with it.

So...somehow there is a connection with COMPUTERS and GUNS? HAHA, maybe that's because windows is such a headache sometimes and we just need to release some aggression. Like on old CRT monitors with a 12ga

I don't know what the sound of balls being sucked out of the universe's black hole would be, but it would be like that.

I think in general most people dont like their corporate IT dept but they always have someone in IT that they prefer over everyone else.

Thats usually me. I treat people the way I would want to be treated or how I would want my family and friends to be treated.

Where I am at now seems to have the "It's us against them attitude". It doesn't matter what dept you are in.

It's a Meh...

Since our IT dept. consists of me and an outside vendor for everything I can't handle. We're looking at getting a new vendor even though we've been with this last one for 10 years, so I guess you can tell what we think of this IT vendor.

I've been working in IT for almost 9 years. I'm very fortunate to work for a company that values IT and has an excellent IT department. I've worked with some real bozos in other shops, but have met very few people in the last five years at my current job that were not outstanding professionals.

I'm a data warehouse architect for a Fortune 500 healthcare company with nearly 30,000 employees and over 100,000 patients in around 1500 dialysis clinics in 42 states.

Our IT department is underappreciated and overworked. I think they are a fantastic group of guys and gals.
