I would go for a mark 1 or 2 Ruger just because I'm not really impressed with Rugers QC any more.

Easy question, easy answer: Go with the Rugar Mark. Personally, I like the Mark II. I have the stainless steel Govt Comp model with a heavy bull barrel and a grip that has a thumb rest, all from the factory. It is dead on, no complaints.

Love my Rugers. Gave my SS MKIII to my son-in-law. He loves it.
I prefer the grip angle of the 22/45. Make sure you look at the bull barrel
or the fluted barrel. The Hunter is really nice.

I think any of them would make a great .22pistol for the collection.

Ruger has the most after market parts available. and is rugged and reliable. Some say they are the ugliest, but I think the tend to lend themselves to the appearance of the old lugers

you cant have a collection without at least one of the Ruger MARK series pistols in it!

I love my 22/45. Good ergos, good trigger, accurate, and reliable (for a semi-auto .22).

I prefer my Mark II 22/45 Target over my Mark III.

Why does nobody love the Browning Buckmark?
