Why something else for further away? I know it is probably obvious, but I don't have either, so I don't know.

If you are shooting at a target bullseye, from more than 20 yards or so, the Bog Dot covers the entire target. This makes it hard to shoot bulleyes from that range. I saw a video with some guy shooting a steel target out to 100 yards. XS does make a standard dot sight. Still I have the Big Dot on my XD45 service and I am very happy with it.

After watching these videos, I am really interested in trying some XS sight on my next gun.

With the XS Big Dots I find it easy to "dot the i" very quickly, so I'm on target faster. My friends at the PD have had similar experience with the Heinie Straight Eights in lining up the dots. I would imagine it would simply come down to personal preference or what is available (XS makes sights for the CZ, Heinie does not), but I don't have any personal experience with the Heinie sights.

Big dot's are the cat's pajamas .

Check out these links. They leave no doubt as to the potential of these sights.

That's a new one on me.

First impression: cool
Further review: no thanks
Why?: cool because I haven't seen anything like that before, no thanks because my eye is looking at the alignment points between both sides of the top half of the triangle and both sides of the bottom half. That means my eyes are spending time aligning the sights rather than looking from the front sight to the target.

I prefer the "dot the i" set up. But others prefer the 3 dot and still others might like the floating triangle system.

Who knows?

Question Heinie Straight 8 Slant Pro voters!

I've heard from lots of XS Big Dot fans, but I see the voting is pretty close.

I don't have either, want one of them, and would like to hear from Heinie Straight 8 fans, why do you prefer them?
