Have you ever bought more than one gun a month?

Inspired by this thread: Pennsylvania Groups Push for Gun Theft Reporting, One-gun-a-month Laws

The question is what is the most amount of 'firearms' (frames/registered part of a firearm included) that you've ever bought in one month?

A month being from the first day of the month to the last day of the month, and not just a month's span of time.

The reason I ask is because I think there are a lot more legal gun owners that buy more than one gun a month for a varied number of reasons, so one-gun-a-month legislation will have more of a negative effect on legal gun owners than the straw purchasers that it targets.

Also what were the reasons for buying more than one gun a month?
Collecting? Good deals? Just because you could? Building guns as a hobby (i.e. 1911s, AK47s, AR15s, FALs, etc)?

I bought both my XDs the same day because I was able to work a deal with the shop if I upped the volume. One occasion only though.

I'd rather have my XD and not need it, then need it and not have it....

If they are going to limit the number you can buy in a given period of time, they should base it on a year. Not that I support such a mandate. Only cruel evil dictator types would do that!

The question is what would the limit be? 18 might be fine for most people, but to a serious collector who might aquire 20+ guns in a year is crippling to him.

Likewise would there be a restriction for selling a gun and then buying another. i.e. like the I sold the .22 that my father gave me and then bought a new one, and while at the gunshop I saw another gun I wanted.

The net gain is only 1, and straw purchasers are unlikely to legally sell guns before buying new ones. Would it apply to trades as well. Let's say you found a great deal on P38s a while back and now that they're drying up you can easily triple your investment by trading them for something more useful, profitable, or interesting...

Would that apply as well?

My personal opinion is that there should be no limit to the number of guns a lawful citizen decides to purchase. there's no limit on ammunition or knives or even cars (which everyone forgets kills a lot more people than guns). I firmly stand by the belief that government has very little place in telling people how to live their lives and spend their money.

Rest assured that if we allow 'small' well intentioned bits of gun control legislation like this we'll just see more.

After one gun a month it'll be one gun a year... (You have to follow the logic of the left, guns are unnecessary so any guns is too many.)

I was given my first gun last year and I've since become addicted to shooting. My brother recently bought a XD-40 and he loves the thing. I am saving to buy two guns in one month, a shotgun and a XD(not sure what type tho).

Most for me was two C&R guns (a 91/30 and Russian SKS) when I made a day-trip out of town to one of my favorite gun stores. I couldn't leave the store with just one....
