Have you considered a Springfield Armory XD .45?
I have owned a Glock or otherwise shot one for 12 years. If the XD had been around at the time I would never have owned / carried the Glock for duty for years. Now I have an XD and greatly prefer it! With the "compact" series you just cannot beat the XD.
