I just purchased a S&W 442 as a back-up. I hope I made a good desision. It sounds like most of you like yours. Any down side that anyone has noticed? I almost went with the Ruger 101 but my goodness those 442 - 642s are way lighter. I have not shot it yet. I hope I don't regret it.

I picked my 642 up about a month ago and have carried it daily since as a bug. The trigger took some getting use to but after 200 rounds has smoothed out pretty well. I did change the grips out to a set of CT's and don't mind the recoil much at all.
I carry 135gr Speer GD's (short barrel) that seem to work really well. What flavor do you guys prefer? Matt |

currently trying to choose between the 642 and 638 myself as something to pocket carry when wearing baggy shorts and a tshirt. Right now my only carry gun is a XDSC9 but it will only conceal to my liking with a untucked button up shirt and pocket carry with the snubbie will let me stay armed no matter what the weather or if i'm too lazy to put on the IWB holster. Currently leaning towards the 638 but i'm sure i'll go back and forth a bunch since i'm not buying it till October (it'll be a bday present for myself)
