I have held the 556 and REALLY liked the balance and feel of the weapon but have not fired one. My brother is a range instructor for his PD and their SWAT team and has fired every SMG and assault/battle rifle available to NATO units and most ComBloc weapons (FBI Submachinegun Instructor School) and he is quite the ColtSnob. That being said his favorite is the full auto Sig rifle. NOt because it is a Sig, there is a nasty rumor that he threw a Sig 220 over the PD Range burm fter multiple FTF's although there are no credible witnesses, he is not partial to Sig in general but is a fan of the LE version of the rifle you are inquiring about.

IIRC, the Sig 556 uses AR15 magazines and is compatible with AR stocks.

IMO, the Sig 556 seems to be a more reliable and easier to clean variant.

the SIG comes with no sights and has a flimsy charging dingus.
