The thing bugging me is something no one else touched on. I have lived in small communities most of my life and there is one thing about small towns. Everyone knows everything, especially the police. I am a volunteer firefighter, and where I used to live in PA. I was also. The police there knew everything about everyone. Which houses were crack houses, who did what etc. Why didn't these guys KNOW that a NAM VET with PTSD lived there? R/T am I missing something? You did say small town/ rural area correct. Granted you said these were County deputies not the municipal cops, so that could be the reason they didn't know. But, from the articles talking about his work on the "memorial" I would think he was well known. I'm not an LEO, but I think if I was serving a warrant in a Nam Vet's house and he had PTSD I'd tread a little more lightly. Just my opinion.
