OK the event that has (IMHO) the best chance of starting a real #%#@ storm would be a government gun grab

it would truly be the one thing that would

a) crank up the shtf posters and the readers of said forums
b) may actually get the hunting and sport shooting communities to realize that the anti-gun crowd is not messing around they want the (all) guns off the streets
c) one of the most interesting aspects of (b) would be the reaction of local law enforcement to the order to collect .The feds do not have enough manpower for the job the cannot use the military

On a more serious note, we tend to see these scenarios in a "final" good versus evil all out war or stock market crash or end of the world type events. I think we'll just continue down the road to obscurity and will become just a nation of the "out-sourced", illegals, and failed liberal policies. Our leaders either cater to special interest groups or other countries interests before considering America. The power of "We the People", is diluted a little more each time we allow ourselves to give-up just a "tiny" bit of freedom to ensure "corporate profitability, national security, B1B, illegal immigrate rights, ensuring democracy for <blank>, crime prevention, gun control...the list goes on.

Why do you think we have Blackwater undergoing a major expansion for training grounds here in the States They were even said to be in N.O. after Katrina. Now I wonder who grabbed the guns?

Industry hurt from lack of oil? Our industry is basically dead already. Where are the millions of jobs lost in the auto and steel industry at now? China. We're too busy watching some @$$hole dance around in the endzone and worrying about "our team" to worry about stuff like that until its your job.
