How do you transport your firearm when flying?
I might be doing a fair amount of traveling, and wanted to see how others were transporting their firearms when flying. I really like the Pelican cases, but I'm concerned about it being a more likely target for theft. The last thing I want is my XD to be stolen... :/
How do y'all transport? Any other tips or suggestions? \\ACB

Personally I would box it up and Express Mail it to myself.

That's probably the best way.

Sounds like the best way to me.

I travel with my 45 ACP Service in one of these in my checked luggage.
http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpag...442&t=11082005 Small and rugged, it is very easy to slip out at the ticket counter for insertion of the required "UNLOADED FIREARM" declaration before going on to the TSA for final clearance. I feel safer having it discretely tucked in my luggage rather than in a separate case that screams "if you are looking to steal something - here's a gun!!"

Shipping would get very expensive. Overnight delivery would probably run at least $40 each way.

they didn't give an option of rifle case, with rifles and pistols in it. Its more fun that way.

It's not legal to mail a gun to yourself is it? Cuz if it is then that's the way I'm gonna be doing it lol.
