Springfield has not installed an aggressive marketing strategy when it comes to the LE and military, or the infrastructure support.
I don't see this changing.

If you vote for Obama, you are a fu*king idiot.
If you vote for McCain, you are a fu*king idiot.
If your vote is for the lessor of two evils, then you can be comforted knowing that you're less of a fu*king idiot than the other guy!

Never is a long time...

I think the .45 XD has big potential for taking a big bite of the Glock market. Once they release the .40 (17 rounds) and 9mm (21 rounds) on the larger frame capacity that will mix things up even more.

The ONLY reason I can tell M&P is popular with LEO is they give them away, and the bean counters like that.

Well part of the problem for the XD is Springfield will not send out parts. As an armorer I would never recommend a gun to the chief that I had to send in for ever little problem. Shipping UPS 2nd day air is just too expensive for that. Secondly Glocks have a great reputation and they work. They have the advantage of being well known and trusted. It will be hard for the XD to overcome that.

I think the XD 45 has a good shot at being adopted by the military if they can pull their heads out. I don't own one but it's a fine pistol and I put it ahead of the Glock 21/SF.

I agree with Frenchy which is why I picked 'It's Possible...But Not Likely'.

I don't feel that SA would give the discounts that Glock has given.

I sold my Glock for the XD.

It works better for me and my needs...............

I'm getting orders for parts from all over the world for the XD parts, so it isn't just popular here.

Are far as parts go, SA does take care of the LEO folks. They have even sent regular folks our way for the small springs they don't sell.

My neighbor is also the SA rep for the northwest, and he has several dealers who sell to LEO agencies and their department sale of XD picks up every month I'm told.

I bet the dealer was a XD seller. Glocks are great guns. The 9mm versions hold up the best lasting as long as 200,000 rounds and still going strong.
