Extra mags w/ CCW?

Other threads piqued my curiosity.

How many carry extra mags with them? How many?

I've always felt 10 45's should be enough for just about any situation. At least to get me to my truck

I carry 10+1 in my XD .45 Plus 1 13 round mag with me at all times. There are two many variables out there for you not to. Most would argue that IF your weapon jams it would be much easier for you to clear to jam by droping the mag clearing and pop in your spare.

Yes, but what if you get a malfunction... it might be easier to seek cover, dump the mag, reload and re-address the problem.

I carry 1 or 2 depending on what I'm packin'
oh and you might want to change the wording in the poll

"make sure the BG is DEAD" to until the BG is STOPPED

I agree as to why an extra mag is a good idea. Just wondered how many actually carried them day in and day out

Meh, I didn't figure options 3 or 4 would get any votes anyway, so....

I'm going to be carrying 1 daily. I figure that the reasons everyone else has mentioned are more than good enough to convince me. And I feel that, for my area and my size, any more than 2 is too many. I would carry more, but it just isn't that feasible.

In case someone missed my post earlier... Here is an updated (as of today) tally...

10+1 In the XD
13 x2 Weak side hip
13 x3 under strong side arm

Total= 76rds of 200gr Hornady TAP +P or 230gr Winchester SXT (Depending on enviroment)

Yeah, so that is what I carry for work... I just don't bother to change for shopping at walmart... Of course, walmart at 3AM is kind of creepy
