Favorite form of motor racing?
The recent NASCAR threads got me thinking: what's the breakdown of the motorsports fanbase here on XDTalk? What do you like? Why?
ETA: I deliberately left out karting, but if this is your thing, feel free to do a write-in vote.

The poll's up now, and you may make multiple selections. Also, fill me in if I missed something. My own preferences are for open wheel/F1, rallying/cross-country, and the American LeMans series (Corvettes, Vipers, Porsche, prototypes, etc.). Edit: Doh! I just realized I left out air racing. For all you fans who head to Reno, I apologize.

F1, WRC, Superbike, 1/4 Top Fuel.
Nascar has its merits... but I ultimately start thinking.... these guys are turning left. F1 watching a open wheeled formula car going 200+ down the straight and zip around the curves is just amazing. WRC Driving 80-150 with trees on one side and a cliff on the other....wow... Superbike see F1 except on two wheels 1/4 Top Fuel 300mph will always be cool...until 400mph is cool...

My faves fall in this order:
1.) WRC 2.) NASCAR 3.) Drag Racing 3.) Road Racing (They tie, Drag racing would be a solid third if it weren't for the 10 seconds of racing and 30 minutes of waiting) 5.) IRL/F1/CART 6.) Dirt Track racing

F1 and WRC, although Grand Touring is fun to watch too. I'm thinking about going to the Indy 500 this year just to see what it's all about... $20 is super cheap compared to F1 too.

I like any form of road racing where the cars appear to look factory; especially outlaw because it has less rules and restrictions and you can see mustangs vs porche vs corvette and a lot of others too. My favorite type of racing, though, would have to be vintage/historic.
It's been nice growing up near laguna seca or mazda raceway to some (not me, or any local for that matter), it's one of the better more challenging tracks around. It was way better before the AMA motorcycle crybabies made them change the track to make a couple of turns "less dangerous."

I picked powerboat. Up here in the Pacific NorthWET we like to watch the Hydros run on lake Washington every summer.
They look pretty cool when they flip over, too!
