How do you pronounce 'carbine'?
I was just curious, how does everyone pronounce the word 'carbine' - carbeen, carbyne, carbin, or some other wierd way?
I am under the impression either 'carbeen' or 'carbyne' is technically correct in modern American English, but am curious to see which is more popular. I personsonally pronounce it 'carbeen' Last edited by LimaXray : 04-09-2007 at 09:09 AM. |

Interesting, I've always heard and pronounced it like carbyne. I just looked it up on m-w.com (merriam webster dictionary) and they have it as carbeen.
