Which .22 pistol?

I've had a Ruger MKII 22/45. Liked it, but wasn't "thrilled" with it at the time. More shooting might have convinced me to keep it. Mine was a bull barreled stainless version. I probably should have kept it.... as I am now looking for a good .22 semi-auto pistol (I have a Single Six revolver as well).

So... what are your thoughts on these choices? I realize the Sig isn't the same feel as the other two. I'm looking for a practice / plinking gun that won't cost me a fortune in ammo (no competition - just fun shooting), as well as something for my wife to shoot - as she doesn't like the larger caliber guns.

All the best,
Glenn

If limited to the 3 above, and no others, I would say either the Ruger or the Browning. I absolutely hate the Sig Mosquito. Didn't like the overall feel, and had problems with fail to feed in my try-out gun.

I love my P22, it has been flawless, but I seem to be the minority!

I'm going to "borrow" my friends P22 I love it and haven't had one failure with it. Sorry I don't know about those three options.

Not quite mudfoot, I also have a P22 and it has been flawless as well. The only problem I ever had was rounds nosediving into the feedramp. After closer inspection I noticed that the magazines were filled with gold dust (From the remington golden bullets bulk packs) so I cleaned the mags and it fixed it. The follower was sticking in the mag. I have yet to have a problem with it. So, add me to the list of flawless P22's...

Browning Buckmark. Great shooting gun. Well built and cheap to shoot. Mine probably has around 8,000 rounds thru it.

It can take a little while to clean, but what semi-auto doesn't, the .22's are nasty from the word go.

I say either the Browning or Ruger. The Ruger is a tad more durable and the Browning is easier to take apart for cleaning. Both will serve you well.

Ruger. Field stripping was complicated the first time, but pretty easy after you've done it once.

Although you won't be making a bad choice with the Buckmark, my vote still goes for the Ruger.
Solid, reliable, and you'll still be shooting it on your 101st birthday....
