Storm.

Lighter, cleaner functioning (I don't know of any piston driven ARs yet), and the availability and price of magazines makes it a good buy.

Our school gun club owns a 9mm Storm and whenever I get the chance, I like to take it out for a spin. Definitely a fun gun and one that's on my "It'd be nice to have someday list." Plus, as mentioned earlier, cheap mags are a plus.

AR. Why, take one out for a spin then check the smile on your face. it's a hoot. I run a Olympic pattern upper with a Hahn block and 32 round sten mags ($4.00 ea) which is another good reason. This upper is on top of a Superior Arms lower that I built up with a mil spec LPK (no mods to the lower are needed for a Oly pattern). The sight is a Ultradot

Nikon,
I am only a short ride east if you ever want to take mine for spin.

Just to look at things from a different angle, have you considered a Hi-Point carbine? I know that is not an option in the poll, but it is something to at least consider. Mine is fantastic, accurate, hasnt jammed yet with no cleaning, good customer service, great warrenty, peep sights like an AR, feels good, and can be had for under $200. They are available in 9mm and .40 s&w. Depending on your use for it, one of these would be worth looking into.

I agree my Highpoint has about 5000+ rounds thru it not one hiccup no matter what ammo you put in it, you pull the trigger it go bang. I put a red dot scope on mine with the weaver style mount provided in with purchase and you can't miss.....really you can't miss, mine was 167.00, you can't beat that.

OH JEEEZZZZ!! This is an easy one! 600$ for a CX4 vs nearly 1000$ AR15!!!! Also you can get some cheap 30 round mags for the CX4 and tune them up to make them work.

CX4 $600
Hi point 200 (high range of price)
= $400 left over...
WWB 9mm, $12-15 per 100
400/15=26.66
26.66 boxes WWB*100= 2000+ rounds of ammo

I dont know how much a red dot is, but thats a lot of ammo and a gun for the price of a CX4
