HR1022 needs to be defeated
Good morning guys. Some of you may have heard about McCarthy's attempt to reinstate the Klinton assualt weapon ban, only McCarthy's version is worse.
If you think this bill doesn't affect you because you don't own an assualt weapon, they are attempting to again limit round count to 10 per clip (regardless of what type firearm it is and this would include pistols), and have a whole list of guns that would be deemed "assualt weapons" that even includes HiPoint carbines and Ruger mini's this time too that wasn't on the list the last time around. Here is a link to the actual bill she's proposing as sickening as it is. http://www.govtrack.us/congres.....=h110-1022 We need to contact our Representatives and Senators to oppose this bill. Regardless of whether you own or ever plan to own a firearm of this type is beside the point. We must defend our Constitution Rights at all costs. One way to do it is to contact your Reps. Here is a few links of where to contact them. http://www.house.gov/house/MemberWWW.shtml http://www.senate.gov/general/.....rs_cfm.cfm Also, here is an online petition if any of you guys haven't signed it. It doesn't take but a few minutes to fill out, and you can opt to be "anonymous" when being viewed online if you'd rather. http://www.thepetitionsite.com/takeaction/409898348

I have done a lot of research on this bill's sponsor, Carolyn McCarthy, lately. She is a former Republican who's husband was killed in the famous Metro train shooting in New York, by a man who singled out whites and defended himself on the basis of insanity by reason of "black rage". McCarthy was motivated to run for office solely on this reason alone. So, of course, she is going to hammer away at gun rights, seeing as this is the main reason she wanted to become a politician. She is another Sarah Brady. She is bitter. I would be too. But, not at guns.
She has introduced an anti-gun bill nearly every session that she has been in office. Very few see the light of day. She uses nearly every opportunity she gets to address the House to talk about gun violence. She has become a virtual standing joke by both parties that she will use her time to complain about guns and gun violence. Her website is chock full of video streams of her addressing gun violence. Coincidentally, she ALWAYS states that she is pro-gun, recognizes and supports the second amendment, and factually states that Americans have the undisputable right to bear arms. She just wants to pick which ones. She waited until she had a majority to introduce this particular bill, as she has had very little support for her past bills. What she needs to realize, is that if one person on that train had been legally carrying a firearm, her husband may be alive today. I am willing to bet that he would.

I noticed that too.
My guess would be someone stirring the pot for fun or simply voting against "unlimited access" to guns.

Sad to see there wasn't a choice for "HELL NO!"....so I simply chose "no". I don't see why anyone on this site would support restriction of their 2a rights...

Probably a troll.
I went to the range today and was pleased to see a write up on HR1022 urging people to contact their representatives to defeat this.
