Could be Abigail Jennifer or Alexander Jason.
I've never heard of anyone naming their kid initials. It'd be really strange to have a kid whose first name is TJ, AJ, etc.

Sorry, you don't have the option of "Either" down here in the south it would be ok to name either a boy or girl by that designator.

AJ is not a name, nor is it a nickname. If he wants a name with only two letters, try Al. Otherwise, alert him to the fact that these are initials and do not escape the larger problem of giving the child a decent name by which they can be known professionally and personally.

A little off subject maybe, but I met a waitress once in the Hard Rock Cafe' in Orlando whose name was "AK". She was one of those girl next door types that looked like she had never taken anything stonger than an asprin.
My buddy and I were goofing around with her and I said "So what's your last name?" Without missing a beat she replied, "47!", and gave me one of those sassy over the shoulder winks before she walked off. I, of course, was in love after that. lol
