Wow, took him down with a family heirloom!

You are right--it's all about shot placement!

A hit with a .32acp is better than a miss with anything else!

The first time it came out was during a holdup at a video arcade back in the early 90's.

the second time has been rehashed here a couple times, but for those that want to read it... now that the adrenaline has subsided....(update pg2)

I`ve draw and aim BG two times...first time where a couple of guys trying to start a fight with some neighbors (don`t ask me why) while my dad was in the middle trying to stop them..they pulled out a big F***ing knife...So I did what I was suposed to (I think) didn`t even had to talk...as soon as they saw that...chill and leave . Second time did had to shoot at two guys that tryed to rob me...I was walking that knigth and they came to me very suspicious, as soon as I realize their intentions...I draw...they didn`t back off so...bang, bang.didn`t hit anyone...but then a patrol was near by, heard the gunshots and came to me, I explained what happened...they gave me a ride to the police station, Identified the BGs (Most wanted LOL)...Police took my gun...it took me a month to get it back .

Yeah, I don't get that. They take your gun, so that you can't successfully defend yourself again.

If they were taking your gun because they thought you might have done something wrong, then why not arrest you. It makes no sense.

anhiciano, did the police asume you were guilty and give you a hard time at all?

Frank

if ya'll didn't notice, my man anhiciano is from the d.r., and i'm sure they have different gun and self-defense laws there than here...

einheit...just curious, since you don't seem to mind talking about it...was the bg in your house, unbeknownst(sp?) to you, upon entry? or did you come home and realize(sp?) that you had been broken into, only to confront the bg? i'm only curious because, although i may sound like a pussy, i'd rather not confront anyone with my firearm if i don't have to...if my house was broken into, and i realized it before i went in, i'd call the cops and wait for them...already being in my house, or going in without knowing about the break-in would be a different story, of course...

edit: i have never shown the business end of my guns to anyone, i hope i never have to...

Only drew it once for a dog, thankfully he stopped running at us. But not for BG, so I voted never even flashed it.

It sux that the legal system makes it so hard on folks who were forced to defend themselves, doubly so at home. The family of BG that sue, should be able to be conter sued for harasment.

Enjoying my XD .45ACP Tactical. need to break in my 870, and my wife's XDSC9.

I carry my XD45 ACP Tactical, in a SuperTuck from CB. Very comfortable, easy to hide, easy to draw, and easy to reholster.

Looking for an HDR*, either an AR-180B, or Kel-Tec FBR.

HDR, Homeland Defense Rifle

This is a point I discussed with a friend who's been a CCW/Defensive pistol instructor for a long time. He mentioned that when he carries, it's with the least expensive pistol he owns that he's still comfortable using, for this very reason. Better a $575 XD (incl. cost of night sights) sitting in a police locker than a $1200 tricked out 1911, which I've known people to carry. Ultimately it's your decision as to what to carry, but this is a thing to take into consideration, I think.

Einheit, that is one scary story. I'm glad you came through it okay, even with the legal problems afterward.

amishclark is right...gun laws are a little different here.frank... police said there was no evidence of my life being threat...no injures or any other gun fired at the scene than mine...then I said..WTF..am I suposed to wait getting hurt before defending my life? lucky me I could get my gun back. they usually give it to the LEOs here or any other Institution that might need it.

Considering how EXPENSIVE is to get gun here...it would be a nightmare.
