We have 4 kids, the oldest is 15 and the youngest is 10. None of them are the slightest bit curious about a gun laying around though.

All my guns are either in a safe, on my side or no more than 10 feet away from me! I have instilled the STANDING rule for now ( well as much as I can ) that my 2 and 3 year old NEVER TOUCH ANY GUNS, EVEN PLAY GUNS! I will teach them later on in progression if the chose to show a intrest in them!

Yeah, the wife and both ride gixxers too. Except we only ride on the track (street riding to too dangerous). Dragging our knees around corners at 100mph+ could definitely kill us!

Edit:

I couldn't ask for a better wife. She likes guns and fast motorcycles. Does it get much better then this???

Loaded gun on the dining room table when I get home from work, then it goes on the nightstand.
My daughter is 21, and has been around guns, and shooting from about the time she was 8.

We have a his and her kids set-up so my kids are 24+22 and they go shooting with me, however my son has given me a grandson who is 3 now and Granddad has started to teach him about guns. Her kids are 15 + 10 the 15 year old is a girl who isn't into guns that much she may break a nail you know! The boy has had toy guns for ever so at first he was think that mine where which he was educated but he isn't showing that he would like to go shoot.

All guns are lock in a safe but my care gun wich is one me or on my night stand at night I just love that XD

House gun is in a pistol safe in the master bedroom closet, fairly quik to access. That's also my primary carry gun and stays loaded. Everything else is in a closet in the spare room/office behind a solid pine door with a keypad combination lock on it. Door stays locked except when I'm home and nearby. Only wife and I know the combo and it's a seven digit combo.

Two daughters 12 and 13, both know how to check a firearm to see if it's safe although the youngest is not as good at it. Both know not to touch or handle anything unless I am right there. The youngest loves to shoot with dad but not so much the eldest.

My three year old boy is a human tasmanian devil and too youg to get 'play" vs "real" and so nothing is ever where he can reach it or get to it unless I am with him and he's curious, even then the attention level ramps way up on my part as does consistent reinforcement/indoctrination of gunsafety and the potential harm they can do.

We have a gun safe bolted to the wall / shelf and a gun vault by the bed. Everything but the carry gun goes in the safe. The Carry gun is either on person or in the vault. I need to get another safe to bolt in the rafters elsewhere in the house where I can store the ammo (except carry gun + 2 16-round mags)

Right now my son is only 2 months old so I have a while to go before I need to worry about him getting in to my guns. Right now I keep all of my guns locked into my safe which is bolted to the floor in my garage. I also keep a gun with a M6 light by my bed. I don't always keep the same gun by my bed I like to change it up. When Junior is old enough to get into things that gun will be put in a gun vault or place high enough in my closet that he couldn't reach it without a ladder. As he gets older he will get his own BB gun then .22 and finally a good pistol.
