Sig or XD
Going to buy a .45 acp in the next few weeks. Going to use it for the range mostly and possibly nightstand. Narrowed it down to a Sig CPO P220 and the XD45. They are at about the same price point. Cast a vote and please feel free to take the time to explain your reasoning as I always like to hear peoples opinion.

XD45. Higher capacity, same trigger pull for every shot.

I would have to go against the XD as much as I like them, a Sig is a better made gun and if nothing else, will always retain its value. The Sig P220 is very notorious for its extreme accuracy too. The XD does have the mag capacity advantage...
Im not an XD hater but by God when someone asks between an XD and a Sig, its Sig all the way.

I would originaly would siad SIg, but if it's a night stand (last line off defense), the XD 45 reliability a magazine capacity might edge out the 220. It's not as accurate as the sig, but if your just with your spouse, and don't have to rescue anyone else in other distant rooms, the the XD combat accuracy is good enoough for the close range you would fine your self.
Unless your Bedroom is VERY larg (20+ yards Long) the the higer capacity of the XD is a benifit not to be ignore and the reliability. If you have to clear rooms, then the sig accuracy....

See I tend to agree with you itchy. I currently have xd 9 and a Sig P228 and they just seem so different. The only reason why I entertain buying the XD is that it is so highly regarded and it actually fits my hand as well as the 220. I love my XD 9 and it is very well made, it just isnt as accurate as the 228. The Sig feels so solid but there must be a really good reason why the XD45 is considered to be best in class.

Hey nerves.... I am in Jax too. I am curious, which do you prefer, the XD9 tactical or the G34?

It's a hard choice...But the G34 is just quicker on the follow-up shot for IPSC, than the XD. Just a personal choice...I timed myself (CED 7000) and I can unload the 17 rounds in just under 6 sec's all in the A zone at 7 yards (No misses....I take me just a little more for the XD with less rounds. Accuracy are almost the same.... ..Ask me i a few month and I'll prob. tell you the Xd again...just flip flap....Let me know if you want to shot bith side by side...

I shoot over at gun gallery but I have been to bullseye. It is a nice facility over there. I might take you up on meeting sometime since i could probably learn a thing or two. I am a relative newbie to shooting but love to learn!
