New or demo?

There is an online AR company, well known, that is offering Eotech 512's for $319. The catch is that they are demo models. They say these have been used for law enforcement demo, gun shows, etc. They claim there are no visible markings and that some of them have never been turned on. They come with a factory warranty. The regular price is $359. What would you do? Spend the extra $40 for truly new or get the cheaper one and buy some ammo?

If it were a scope or a really sensitive optic, I would say no demo... but a red dot sight? I'd go for it. Granted, I don't know much about them, I'm just assuming they're not as delicate as a scope.

I'm not against demo stuff that has a factory warranty. Shows you stand behind your word when you say there's nothing wrong with it. And if by chance something is, they will make it right.

Think of it this way. Are you going into combat with the thing? Do you have to trust your life to it? Do you even care? I think saving the $200 bucks is well worth the "Demo" label on anything.

I voted new... But, I'm not a big used firearm fan... For $40 I'd like to be the first one to drop it in the mudd...

Then again, I've never owned a Use Car either... If it were a $100+ difference I'd go Demo, but for $40 it's not really worth the potental hassle.

For only $40.00 I'd just go with the new one. Then again, that's more money for ammo if you went used... I still voted for new.....

Is this the model that comes with no paperwork, no box, no mounts, no extra batteries - all you get is the scope and the installed batteries. For a $40 savings, is it worth it when you have to spend at least that much for the parts to complete the install? Not to me. Now, if he was offering a $100 savings, I might be tempted......
