Sub-Compact 9mm or .40
I just can't make up my mind. I love my 9mm service and I feel as though I shoot it pretty accurately. I definately want a sub-compact for better concealability for self-defense, but just can't decide on the 9mm vs. the .40.
I've read just about everything out there that there is to read on the subject and I still don't know if I'm convinced the .40 is all that much better than the 9mm. Of course if I am out hiking or something and a dog or other wild animal comes at me, I'm pretty sure I'd rather shoot it with a .40 than a 9 (well, preferable a .45, but that's not an option for SC). So anyway, here's a poll.

I also vote the 9mm you would think you get better control with follow up shots

If you already have a 9mm service I would say to get a compact 9 to go with it.

Not to form a opinion one way or the other but as another poster said - you just answered your own question. It seems that if you get the 9mm then your not gonna be happy with your choice. I know in the past that if I was leaning one way on something to purchase and decided to go another then eventually I sold it and bought what I originally wanted. Better get the .40cal

Either .40.....40.... or maybe .40 . If you go with one of these you cant really go wrong.

Which statement are you more likely to ever make after you've made your purchase?
1) Man, I wish I'd gone with the .40 caliber. or 2) Man, I wish I'd gone with the 9mm. And then ask yourself under what circumstances you would make either of those statements. I'm guessing that most people would only make statement 2) when they are buying ammo. Although it could also come up when you need "just one more round." I've been going over the same question myself. If I'm ever in the position, God forbid, where I am depending on the firearm to save a life, then if 10 rounds of .40 don't do the job for me, then 11 rounds of 9mm probably wouldn't have helped. |

i said 40 since i have one. i know that they are coming out with 9mm conversion soon which isn't soon enough. i just realized this weekend that the 40 kick much harder than the 9mm. i have a 9 service and i shot both back to back and wow, never realized they were so different.
So, with that said, 40 for the kick but 9 for practicality.
