As a man of science, you can't argue with facts (carbon dating, radiometric dating, etc.). Earth has been around for a long loooooong time.

I am from Michigan, and I recently watched a History Channel show that said my State was formed by 10 separate Ice Ages. That's a lot of Global Warming Al Gore.

... the Earth is less than 4.3 billion years old; the current accepted scientific estimate. Give or take a tad. But then...so many folks also voted for the president....so go figure. HB of CJ (old coot)

I've heard when the US public as a whole was polled, the ratio of "Young Earthers" was about twice this polls current results.
Its more than just believing in God. Its believing in Biblical Literalism, the existance of Man on Earth since very near the beginning and the "Begat Math".
