Not at home, but When i as fishing with some of my friends in Alaska, we were out at the Eklutnik river, and we were packing up our stuff to go home, when a Black bear came out of the woods from a good 100 yards, looked at us, must have smelled the fish, and started comming towards us, my friend mike grabbed his 45-70 lever gun and gave that bear a few good reasons to leave us alone, I had a ruger speed six in .357 that I'm sure that i didn't do too much damage with, but needless to say, we were pretty shaken up. the bear was hit the first time for sure. turned around to run into the woods, and died no more than 100 feet from where he was shot. he was hit once in the neck, and the other few shots hit him in the back and side. What I love about alaska is that within 10 seconds there was about 8 other fisher men at the scene with high power rifles/ revolvers, but they were'nt fast enough. but that did make me feel safer knowing others were there to back us up if need be. Fish and game was called. they were'nt too happy about the shooting, but the bear was approaching us, charging or not, it most likely would have gotten ugly. May not have been an intruder in my home, but it was probably just as scary. nothing like a couple thousand pounds of teeth and claws headed your way
