Best Sights for the XD?

I am thinking of purchasing new sights for my XD 45 Tac. and wanted to get your opinions on what would be best. I am looking for night sights that works well for normal range use and can handle USPSA/IDPA competitions. I am looking forward to your opinions.

PS. Thank you to Pistolgear.com for the list of sights. (Hope you don't mind me using your available products for the poll.... )

Dawson's or Heinie's if you want competition sights that are night sights also.

I thought that the Dawsons were either Tritium OR fiber, but not both?
I was under the impression that the TFO's were the only combo sight out there....

The TFO's are the only one that satisfy all your criteria. I have some on my Service and they are an outstanding all-around choice.

There are, however, a few disadvantages. The FO elements must be replaced at the factory if they are damaged. The second is they are fixed and if they're not right on vertically it is impossible to adjust them. Finally, the front blade is very wide leaving relatively little open space on the two sides. This last issue should be mitigated by the slightly greater sight radius on the Tactical.

I do use the adjustable Dawson's on my Tactical for USPSA competion. They are the best I have found for that purpose but lack the tritium capability you seek.

Correct, I think they have a much better sight picture for competition type shooting than the other sights.

I do sell the Dawson Tritium adjustable sights.

...Opps Paladin sliiped in between thet posts His observations are spot on IMO except that Dawson makes tritium versions of the fixed and adjustable sights.

I have trijicon night sights on my XD40 Service barrel.

I have XS 24/7 Big Dots on my Glock 36 carry gun. They are for up close and fast shooting.

Is the Tritium better than regular Fiber Optics? What is the difference?

Tritium only glow in the dark, FO only glow in the light. TFO have a tritium vial behind the FO so, they glow in both. I am not a fan of sights glowing when it's light, but I have very good eye sight.

I have tried out may sights during the years, to date I like the straight 8's. They give me everything I am looking for CC purposes and for Idpa. If you have not tryed them do, the diference in how the dots line up make a big diference for me.
