Check out the PDF document in this link, these folks did a big survey of the folks that shoot USPSA ( http://www.uspsa.org ) late last year. Lots of good insight into income bracket, education, job/career segments, etc.

Pages 4-7 have the majority of the survey results, its some interesting information.

I put business / accounting - I'm in real estate, didn't know where that would fit in otherwise...

I wasn't exactly sure where to put my vote.

I'm actually an architect by education and early career, but now I'm working in an engineering firm as their CAD/GIS Technician.

Typically I've seen my career categorized under "professional" so that's what I leaned towards, although technically my job title is a Technician.

But don't get me wrong, I don't make near as much money as a doctor would. I wish I did, but then again, my Ex-wife would get even more money from me that way. Grrrr...

I have a college degree but I have never had a white collar job in my life: Taco Bell in high school, then the Army, started college and dropped out for two years to work for a pipeline company, layed-off and started back to college and worked as an electrician's apprentice in the summers or weekends and nights during long semesters, graduated college and now work on an assembly line.

I actually made more money at the pipeline company than anywhere else. It took me all across the country so I got per diem and claimed everything on taxes. It was seasonal so for working 6-9 months out of the year I still would bring home $55K and up. I saved a lot of it and also I would divert my G.I. Bill money to pay for "toys."
