Change would mean you would look for a church that would allow members to cc.
Irrelavent, or not an issue means you do not carry normally at church so the policy does not have any direct effect on you.

None of these options are what I would do.

Too many other ways to skin that cat...

I believe I would have to switch churches or try and convince them to change their mind. I would not want to be part of a congregation that denied me my constitutional right ( actually I view it as a basic human right) to be armed in order to protect myself if a situation arises if need be.

I'd find another church that allows CCW. That's just one of the things I'd look for when "shopping" for a church. Of course I don't have that option because my state doesn't allow it period.

I'd carry anyway. Am happy with the church I do attend, and as previous posters said, if they installed a metal detector, that would be the only way to know I was carrying.

My church actively encourages CCW. However open carry recently passed in my state and they are not going to allow this. Since they are still CCW friendly the fact that they ban open carry is no concern for me.

We have unarmed security all over our church because of some nut jobs. There's been protesters that turned violent outside our church and a couple child abduction attempts in the children's ministry.

I think its better to conceal carry at church as to no distract others who might not like guns or makes them feel uncomfortable. I don't want to be reason why they aren't listening to the Word.

If some day they decided they wanted to ban weapons in the church, i would probably first ask to meet with my pastor and ask why he came to this decision. Maybe I could persuade him different? Then I'd have to pray about it with my wife and decide if we want to continue going.

I really don't ever see this happening in my church and I'm pretty sure my pastor is packing too.

I'm pretty sure my pastor would be all for CCW. Just some of the things he's mentioned it in a couple of sermons, or a few stories I've heard him tell. Unfortunately, my state thinks they know better than our pastor.

I like what "The Weapon" stated about distracting others. We do live in an age where people think negative about general public carrying. That said, I carry every sunday and wednsday. I have for about a year and a half. Recently someone got stirred up because the preacher had been carrying visiably. He has since put it away because of the distraction but we did have a meeting on this. We as a church can only bind that which God has bound. He does not teach against it, therefore the Church cannot. If it became a law, then we are forced by God's Law to obey the laws of the land. All that being said, if the church banned it I would be forced to leave as they would be straying from the Word, not because I want to carry.

I would be looking for a new church just for these reasons, nothing like sitting in church having to worry about child abductions and violent protests.

I have a question for the OP.

Has the church put up the appropriate signage banning CCW?

It's one thing to say it's a policy, post it on a board, and announce it and make sure everyone knows about it, but if the appropriate signage for your state is not posted, then it's totally irrelevant and doesn't apply to you. You would then not be breaking the law.
