Our qualification here in Tennessee is geared more towards the legal, safety and responsible aspects of CCW. There is range time and you do have to qualify by placing 35 shots out of 50 into the black on a B-27 target from different distances. There is a written test but all of the answers are fully covered in the classroom discussion and videos. You are allowed to make notes and are told what parts of each discussion will appear on the test.

I had to go through 20 hours, we had to provide NRA basic pistol, and Personal Protection in the home certificates.

no training in WA. just fill out paper, pay 55$ and get it in mail 2 weeks later
