Do you think its safe to use a Clip Draw on a XD

Do you feel its safe to use a clip draw on a XD or carry Mexican style?

I ask this question because I want to know if its safe to carry with out a holster covering the trigger. I dont think I would carry a glock this way, but an XD with the grip safety? Does that make it OK to do?

Just wondering.......thanks

You know, this crap happens with in-breeding. You can only hope the unfortunate, screwed up love child would take themselves out of the gene pool when they discover electrical outlets and butter knives or start huffing paint when they're 7 or 8 but every once in a while a truly magnificent specimen makes it to adulthood to display for the world just how freaking stupid they really are.

Many don't like it, but I frequently carry Mexican Style with my XDs and 1911.

You have probably kicked up a hornet's nest with this poll, BTW.

I don't carry yet (college = no money ), but I don't know why a clip draw would be particularly hazardous. A quick google showed many clips fitting a Glock and I certainly don't think the XD is any less safe than a Glock. As for Mexican, I wouldn't carry without some sort of rig.

well, is the question to use clip draw vs. any other carry/holster type or just clip draw vs. mexican carry? 2 very different questions.

I would never carry this way. My p3at came with a clip draw, and even with that long heavy dao trigger I still won't do it. The risk vs reward ratio just isn't there for me.

I carry my 9mm SC with a Clipdraw 90% of the time. It's no more risky than carrying in a holster. I've been using the Clipdraw for over two years. An IWB holster just does not work for me.

The benefit of the holster is to break the gun from your body, sweet, etc. I am not aware of a single case where someone shot themselves using one.

Clip draw is what I use. Leaves no visible print on me as I move around all day. I just slid the clip under my belt, nobody see's it or the gun, even if the shirt is loosely tucked in.

The only beef I have with the clip draw is the tape adhesive strips. I NEED MORE. I am using my last one. They stay on perfectly, but occasionally I let somebody else shoot my gun and they all have a hard time racking the slide with the clip draw in place (I do not have this problem), so I take it off the gun for them as I would rather they be safe while shooting then me save a tape strip and leave the clip draw in place.

That's what the front serrations are for.
