9mm.
Because one well placed hollow point will put a bad guy down for the count, and if it dosn't for some reason I can get back on target faster for my follow up shot.
Its also cheaper, so I can practice more, so that my first shot gos right where I want it to.
And if for some reason I need to deal with 2+ bad guys I have 20 rounds on tap before I have to reload. So unlike say a 1911 that has 9 rounds on hand if I put 3 rounds each in to 3 BG, I don't have to change mags for BG #4.
And lets face facts here guys, NONE of you can say that you will never miss a shot when it counts. The range is one thing, BGs are another. 9 rounds it just to few IMO to be able to deal with every situation.

Hear hear!
As for me, I have a 9mm. I chose it after shooting a 10mm, a .38spc/.357, a .40 glock, a .45 USP, a .22, and and gun I bought, 9mm

For CC I choose to go with a 9mm.
For home, a 45 would be better, and the 9mm as backup.
9mm is a lot cheaper at the range to shoot.

12 Gauge.
But since it tends to draw attention when I open carry it and I walk funny carrying it concealed, I stick with my 9mm's.

.45. In a 1911 platform it is downright addicting.
