Second Generation Of XD.40 with 16+1 capacity???

Now that springfield has a 13rd .45 acp and a 12 rd .40 it seems like they should produce a second genoration of .40s that have the same magazine design of the .45. I loaded my .45 mag with .40 bullets and it held about 16rds. this would be a huge improvment over 12. It would also give springfield an edge over all other midsize .40 makers. I would definatly buy one

So, are you saying just re-do the mags themselves? Or an entire new pistol? I would think a rework of the mags would be simpler. I'll hold off voting till you clearify.

the mag well on the .40s is way to small to take a new mag....it would have to be an entirly new frame.

Oh hell yeah. Add that to my wishlist along with the 10 round .45acp with either a 3 1/2 or 4 inch barrel for CCW!!!

would this be a big draw for LEOs? while i'm not entirely sure i need this, anything that furthers the popularity of the .40 round and makes it cheaper, i'm in favor of.

I think this would be a hugely popular for law enforcement (they need all the shots they can take)

I am guessing that SA is working on such a designs, taking the frame of the XD45ACP and adding a .40SW upper. This would be a great Limited gun, giving you the capacity that will allow you to compete.

We can all hope and pray.

Oh c'mon, they've gotta be working on it by now!

If not, they probably deserve a slap in the face
