I was at a local shop doing a transfer on a rifle I bought a few weeks ago and noticed that he still has a Russian Makarov (IJ-70) with the adjustable rear sight for $279 for sale. Looks to be at least 90%. Probably closer to 95+%.

I was debating getting it, but I'm still holding out hope that the Bulgarians will pop back up and I'll be able to get a Mak for much cheaper. I left the shop and turned around and went half way there before I decided I better think about it.

So what do you think? Is it worth it? Should I have put some money down on it right away? He's had it before, but I think it was marked higher.

I don't think the Bulgies wil be back, at least not at the prices we saw them before. If th Russian you saw was a military version, but it.

I think it was a commercial version. I'd have to look at the markings.

Russian commercial (IJ-70, fixed rear sight, single stack magazine, 9x18M or .380 ACP, blued): $250 - $400

Russian commercial high capacity (IJ-70-18H or IJ-70-17H): $250 - $4000 Note: 12-round magazines add about $75 - $90 each to the value

I put some money down on it. It's a Russian Baikal IJ-70 in .380 acp.
